Questions and answers

Everything guests usually ask before booking — the apartment itself, getting here, and how the booking works. If your question is not here, just ask us.

The apartment

About the apartment and the urbanisation

Where exactly is the apartment?

It is a ground-floor apartment in the Nerja Medina urbanisation on the western edge of Nerja, on Calle Mérida. The full address is Urb. Nerja Medina, Apt. KB, Calle Mérida, 29780 Nerja (Málaga) — see the location page for maps and directions.

How far is the beach?

About 50 metres. Nerja Medina sits between Playa El Playazo and Playa de la Torrecilla, so you can walk down to the sand in a minute or two of leaving the gate. There are also two large supermarkets within a five-minute walk.

How many people does it sleep, and what are the beds like?

Four people. There is a master bedroom with a double bed and a large wardrobe, and a second bedroom with twin beds and a chest of drawers. The lounge also has two sofas.

Is there a bath?

No — the bathroom has a shower cubicle and a bidet. Worth knowing if you are travelling with very small children, though the shower is a good size and the beach is a minute away.

Is the apartment on the ground floor?

Yes. The apartment is on the ground floor of a two-storey building, so there are no stairs to climb to reach it, and the terrace opens straight off the lounge.

What is in the kitchen?

It is an American-style kitchen, fully equipped, with an oven and hob, a microwave, a fridge, a washing machine and the usual cooking equipment and crockery. With all the restaurants nearby it does not get a great deal of use, but everything is there if you want to cook in.

Is there a washing machine?

Yes, there is a washing machine in the kitchen, and the master bedroom opens onto a small sun terrace that is ideal for drying clothes.

Is there a television, and can I get UK channels?

Yes. The lounge has a television with UK channels, along with books and a folder of local information about Nerja. Handy for evenings in and for the occasional grey day out of season.

Is there Wi-Fi?

The apartment has a television with UK channels, and we would rather give you a definite answer on internet access than a guess. Please mention it when you enquire and we will confirm exactly what is available before you book.

Is it suitable for children?

Yes — the urbanisation is gated and closed to through traffic, so the walkways are safe for children to play on, and the beach is a two-minute walk. The apartment itself is on the ground floor with its own terrace.

Practicalities

Getting here, getting around and what to expect

What about arrival times, linen, parking, air conditioning, pets and smoking?

These are all arranged individually and confirmed with you at the time of booking, so that you get a straight answer rather than a general policy. Tell us what matters to you when you get in touch and we will set it out clearly before you commit to anything.

Do I need a car?

Not for a beach holiday. Everything in Nerja — the centre, the Balcón de Europa, the shops, the bars, both western beaches — is within walking distance along the seafront, and there is a local bus plus taxis in the centre.

A car is worth having for day trips: the Caves of Nerja, Maro, Frigiliana, the white villages and Granada. Car hire is available at Málaga Airport and in Nerja.

How do I get there from Málaga Airport?

By motorway. Leave the airport and join the A-7 (Autovía del Mediterráneo), signed E-15 and Almería, and follow it east past Torremolinos, Málaga and Vélez-Málaga to the Nerja exit — about 55 km, or roughly 45 minutes. There are also direct buses from the airport to Nerja's bus station. Full details are on the location and directions page.

Booking

Checking dates, booking and paying

How do I check whether my dates are free?

Email or telephone us with the week you have in mind. We keep the calendar ourselves rather than publishing one here, because dates move quickly in the summer, and you will get a personal answer rather than an automated one.

How do I book, and how do I pay?

You book directly with us — there is no agency and no online booking system. Once we have confirmed your dates we will explain the deposit and balance arrangements and how to pay. There is a simple four-step outline on the rates and booking page.

Do you rent all year round?

Yes. We let the apartment throughout the year, and winter is one of the nicest times to be in Nerja — bright, mild and quiet, with the town largely to yourself.

Do you take shorter or longer lets?

Our rates are quoted by the week, which is how most guests book. If you are looking for a longer stay out of season, or a part-week in the quieter months, please ask — we can usually find something that works.

Can I pay in euros?

Yes. Our rates are quoted in pounds sterling because most of our guests travel from the United Kingdom, but if you would rather settle in euros just say so when you enquire and we will quote you a euro price.

Still not answered?

We would rather answer a question twice than have you book with an uncertainty hanging over it. Ring us in the evening, or send an email at any time — whichever suits you.
