Travel resources and useful links

A short, hand-picked list of official and genuinely useful websites for planning a trip to Nerja and the Costa del Sol.

This page has been kept deliberately short. Every link in the lists goes to an official or well-established source, and we have not included link-exchange schemes, reciprocal-linking directories or advertising badges — those were a feature of the early web, not something worth carrying forward. Links open in a new tab and take you to sites we do not control.

Practical travel information

Before you travel

A few things that are worth sorting out before you fly, based on what our guests most often ask us.

  • Check your passport and any entry requirements well ahead of time — rules for British and other non-EU visitors to Spain have changed in recent years, and the UK government's travel advice page above is the place to confirm the current position.
  • Arrange your travel insurance when you book rather than later. It is inexpensive, and it covers the sort of thing — a delayed flight, a sprained ankle on the beach — that would otherwise spoil a holiday.
  • Sort out your healthcare cover. If you are travelling from the UK, make sure you understand what the UK Global Health Insurance Card does and does not cover in Spain, and take out insurance for everything it does not.
  • Book the Caves of Nerja in advance if you are coming in July or August. It is one of the most popular attractions on the coast and timed entry sells out.
  • Think about a car if you want to see Frigiliana, the white villages or Granada. Nerja itself does not need one, but the countryside beyond it is much easier with wheels.
  • Decide what goes on your wrist. The sea is lovely and the sand is relentless, so if your watch is not the beach-proof kind, sort it out before you pack. We have written our view in the guest notes; if you would like to see the Super Clone end of the market for yourself, ten minutes there is time well spent.

And once you are here, the folder in the apartment has our own notes on restaurants, beaches and walks — the sort of recommendations you only get from people who actually spend time in the place.

Ask us about your dates

There is no booking form and no agency in the middle — you deal with us directly. Tell us when you would like to come and we will confirm availability and explain how to secure your week.
